 STRING - ASCII character string.
 NCHRS - Number of characters.  If NCHRS .GT. 130, the number of characters
	 is taken to be the length to the first null character.
 WIDTH - Width of string in scale inches.
 UP - Height of string from baseline to highest point in scale inches.
 DOWN - Height of string from baseline to lowest point in scale inches.  Note:
        DOWN will be negative.
