RST restores files from back-up tapes made by BCK (type HELP BCK for more information) and produces standard RMS-11 files as output. The structure, content, and attributes of the restored files are those of the original file when they were backed up. Type HELP RST COMMAND for an explanation of RST's command line and switches. *COMMAND The general form of RST's command line is: outfile[/switch(s)]=infile[/switch(s)][,infile[/switch(s)] ...] where: outfile - The filespec of a file(s) to be restored. The file name and extension must be wild cards; therefore, you cannot rename files as they are restored. The version can be omitted or can be a wild card. In both instances, the version used is that of the original file. infile - The file specification of a back-up container file or a disk file in back-up format. Wild cards can be used to specify multiple files. If version is omitted and the input file resides on magtape (a container file), the following defaults are applied: If wild cards appear in either or both file name and extension, all versions of all files satisfying the wild cards are selected. If both file name and extension are explicitly specified, the first physically occurring instance of the file with version 0 is selected. *SWITCHES Switch Type Description Default ?
