Space Scan

Loading
The program is stored on both sides of the tape. Make sure that the tape is rewound to
the beginning. Type LOAD "space" or LOAD"" then press ENTER. Start the tape. The program
takes about three minutes to load.

Copying to microdrive
The publishers allow you to make one copy only of the program on microdrive. Any further
copying is prohibited and is an offence under the Copyright Act. You can make your copy
as soon as the program has loaded. Check that the microdrive is connected with a blank
formatted cartridge in position. If the microdrive option is operated without a
microdrive or formatted cartridge present, the program will crash. To load Space Scan
from microdrive type LOAD*"m":1;"space" then press ENTER.

Playing the game
You can choose from five options:
1 Constellation spotter
  This takes you on a guided tour through 15 constellations in alphabetical order. You
  are shown a star map and information about the constellation.
2 Constellation choice
  You can select those constellations you wish to study.
3 Star search
  You have a choice of 75 stars, nebulae, and other heavenly bodies. Press S to move
  through the list, then press C to choose.
4 Quiz
  You can test yourself or your friends on constellations only, stars and nebulae without
  constellations, or a mixture of-both. You can opt for 10, 20 or 50 questions
5 Glossary
  This gives a very brief explanation of some terms commonly encountered in astronomy,
  and cross-refers to relevant stars and constellations featured in the program.
  You can return to the menu at any time by pressing CAPS SHIFT and BREAK SPACE
simultaneously. You can then reset your game as you wish, or start with a new player.
