KIREL
for the Spectrum 48K/Plus/128
(Addictive Games)


A 3D arcade game featuring 70 mind stretching screens. Can you find the
transporter networks, snatch the energy supplies and defuse the bombs
before you are blown up (or sucked into oblivion)? Can you avoid the
lurking terrors, conquer invisible obstacles and immovable barriers?
			IT'S ALL HERE IN KIREL
Note: This tape includes a training mode so that you can practice your
moves before you start.

ACTION
Defuse the number of bombs needed to make the exit sign appear and then
to get out over it into the next screen before running out of either
time or stamina.

SCORING
Points are awarded only for speed of completion of each screen.

CONTROLS
Horizontal moves (or transporters when available) are controlled by
keyboard or joystick. Select your choice when asked at the start of the
game by pressing the relevant number.

0 or fire button = pick up or put down block
1 = rotate view 90 degrees clockwise
2 = rotate view 180 degrees
3 = rotate view 90 degrees anti-clockwise
space = stops the game and finds Kirel for you
enter = restarts the game
B = builds a bridge in the direction Kirel is facing (if possible)
D = vertical transport down (if possible)
E = vertical transport up   (if possible)
H = stops the game while you think about it
P = play mode
S = starts the game - starts a new game
T = training mode
VT = abort game

LOADING
Press LOAD "" and ENTER. Then press PLAY on cassette player.

STARTING
When loading is completed the screen will show a moving KIREL display.
Press S and you will be asked to choose KEYS or JOYSTICK controls. Then
press any key to commence.

GAMEPLAY
Move KIREL by keys or joystick. He can climb up or down one block only
at a time, therefore you must pick up blocks and deposit them to build
staircases, remove obstructions, make holes, etc.
Note: He cannot pick up blocks from the base level nor place blocks on
the top level. He can carry only one block at a time.

Remember: KIREL cannot move pyramids, the block which carries the exit
sign or skeleton blocks.
At the end of the game your score will be displayed. Press S for a new
game.

ITEMS TO COLLECT [see also KIREL2.GIF]
Cake : If Kirel has one or more cakes in his store he will kill monsters
if he moves over them (one cake per kill).
Arrow : Kirel collects arrows by moving onto them. Each will earn him an
extra bridge in his store.
Sweets : Kirel eats sweets and bags of sugar to restore stamina.
Balls : Kirel collects balls to gain time.

ITEM TO AVOID [see also KIREL3.GIF]
Monsters : These jump onto Kirel and sap his stamina. Can only be killed
if Kirel moves over them when he has a cake in store.
Pyramids : Are impassable!
Invisible Walls : You know one when you meet one!

ITEM TO LOOK FOR [see also KIREL4.GIF]
Bomb : To be defused (when found) by moving onto it.
Cubes : Helpful devices which destroy structures of blocks, walls and
pyramids.
Transporters and Networks : Provide rapid transport for Kirel from one
place to another. One type is automatic, the other uses your horizontal
movement control and keys E & D (up and down).
Exit : This is the sign which shows the way to the next screen. Move
onto it and the game will pause while your score is calculated and the
next screen prepared.
