%OP%IWC %OP%BM6 %OP%FO//@P@// %CO:A,12,80%%C%%H2%YAHTZEE %C%%H2%------- YAHTZEE.BP is a Z88 implementation of the well-known dice game. It will support two players, or one player "patience". Select 1 or 2 and enter the name(s) of the player(s) - (5 characters only for the names). Press the to set the dice spinning. You have up to three rolls per turn and on rolls two and three you can re-roll any or all the dice, or stick after any throw, to achieve a scoring combination. To hold dice press a number key from 1 to 5 corresponding to the position of the die to hold. An outline arrow will appear beneath held dice. Just press that number key again to toggle the hold on that die. There are 13 scoring elements to achieve in the game; the rub is that you %H4%must%H4% score against one of the elements on every turn, so that if you come up with a non-scoring throw or a scoring throw which you have already recorded, you must elect an element to score 0 against. You can score the elements in any order. Scoring table on P2. To stick with any throw, press "S". Having stuck, you will not be able to "un-stick", so must score what you are "stuck" with. On selecting an element to score against, that element will be highlighted on the appropriate score-board, you will be told how much you score against that element and asked to confirm whether you wish to record it. Answering "N" will enable you to select another element to score against. Some throws, particularly in the early stages, will offer more than one way to score; e.g. 6 6 6 4 4 could be recorded as "6's", scoring 18, or "4's", scoring 8, or "Three of a Kind", scoring 26, or "Full House" scoring 25, or "Chance", scoring 26. But you can only score against one element, not yet recorded; the choice is yours. At each turn, there is shown above the dice box, the element number being played and the number of the throw (with a tick after it if that throw has been made). To one side of the dice is shown a "bullet" arrow to indicate whose turn it is. Elements which have been scored have a square "spot" against them - this also applies to the "Ones to Sixes" bonus when scored or when it is no longer attainable. Hints on strategy: The "Ones to Sixes" bonus is valuable and it is a good idea to make sure of this by scoring these elements early. The later you score "Chance", the better - use it as a "fall-back" for a failed attempt at one of the high scoring elements. Any score over 200 is good. Over 300 is excellent, but you will probably have to score every element to achieve this. %P0% %H1%Element%H1% Ones to Sixes Bonus for above 3 of a Kind 4 of a Kind Full House Low Straight High Straight YAHTZEE Chance %P0% %CO:B,6,68% %CO:C,18,39% THE SCORING ELEMENTS AND HOW TO RECORD %H1%Definition and Score%H1% Score the total of all dice showing the same denomination.
