%OP%JUY %OP%PL64 %OP%TM1 %OP%HM2 %OP%FM2 %OP%BM1 %OP%LM5 %CO:A,12,70%%C%%H2%RAMFILES.DOC %JR%It is easy to get a printed list of all your RAM files. Just got to %JR%the Filer, press ENTER, type *//*, then []+P and ENTER again. %JL%Remember to type []-P and ENTER when the printer stops. ( [] is the square key ) %JL%If you have less than 50 files and you don't mind the clutter of %JR%times and dates you can't get anything easier. If however, you would %JL%rather have up to 150 files on one page, just filenames with bytes, %JR%and be able to move the various directory contents into a tidy arrangement - read on. %JR%Load LISTRAM.CLI (X021B) and STRIP.CLI (X021C) into RAM. Any RAM for %JL%the first one but STRIP.CLI must go in the default RAM (the one shown in the Panel). %JL%To use - go to the Filer and <>EX X021B and sit back. When you see %JR%"Press <> and ESC" as the last line on your screen, do just that. It %JL%cancels all CLI's but if you have gone to put the cat out or the %JR%kettle on they will cancel thenselves by the time you return. ( <> is the diamond key ). %JL%Now you can delete that line and start to manipulate the blocks of %JL%files into a tidy arrangement, adding any notes you may want. You are, of course, in Pipedream. NOTES: 1. Don't worry if you have seen :RAM.- appear on screen. The file entry is erased by the CLI before closing. 2. You don't have to <>KILL any instantiations before proceeding. %JL%3. ".*X021C" appears twice in the main CLI. Only one is needed if %JL% you have less than about 60 files. You may need another one if %JR% you have more than 140! See page 286 of "It's Magic" for an %JL% explanation (though it's possible that the authors haven't tried this method of overcoming the problem). 4. It is a good idea to save the list BEFORE you stirt re-arranging %JR% the contents, just in case you make a mistake in moving or deleting.
