For fast file transfers between a Z88 and a Sinclair QL use Z88COM on the Z88
and Q_Link for the QL. Use the following cable for Xmodem transfers at 9600
Baud:

This is the best way I have found for transfers between the Z88 and a PC type
machine: Use Z88COM on the Z88. It is available here in the download section.
Use a terminal program with xmodem  on the PC. I made a cable with Radio Shack
parts and the following pinouts: Set up both  machines to the same paramaters.
9600,N,8,1 works well. Initialize  xmodem on both machines and watch the
transfer.
